Construction Battalion to be the
3rd Time Recipient of the Battle
"E"
MCB3 received their First Battle
"E" in
1966 while in Chu Lai Viet Nam
At this
point the Ribbon was not yet
established, the Men of the
Battalion received an E shaped Patch
NMCB3
received 3 subsequent Battle "E" awards
on this next Deployment alone
In Nearly Consecutive Years of
1978, 1980, 1981 ~ Occurring
between April 1977 and August
1982
Additionally making this
the, "Longest Continuous
Deployment" in Naval Seabee
History
Performed by The One
and Only, Split Concept
Construction Battalion ever to
Exist
Consisting of the Blue and Gold
Teams.
1987 was their 5th subsequent
Pacific Fleet Battle "E"
& Peltier Award for Fiscal Year
the same
In December 1999, the Battalion
returned home after a successful
deployment that again earned
them the title "Best of Type" in
the Pacific Fleet and earning
the right to wear their
6th Battle "E"
In October of 2004
the Battalion returned home
once again bearing the title
"Best of Type" in the Pacific
Fleet with their their
subsequent 7th Battle "E"
award.
In 2007, THREE hit Octuplet on
the Pacific Fleet Battle "E" with a
subsequent Peltier Award, and
the right to wear the coveted
Battle "E"
for the 8th time
in NMCB 3 history.
